Why hire a guide?

Why hire a guide when you have friends and the internet to learn from?

A guide can:

  • mitigate unnecessary risk

  • bail you out when needed

  • give real-time feedback and suggestions

  • ensure accurate information

  • look out for emotional safety

  • show neuance and refinement of skills

Long story short, I believe there's incredible value in expert instruction. My guests Mike and Selene thought the same, so they hired me to learn how to multipitch climb. Both of them already had plenty of experience climbing outside but they wanted to confidently take their skills to the next level. Over the course of a day they learned a ton (both big and small things) and now have a live resource to check in with as they progress through their climbing career.

I understand a day on the rock with a guide is expensive. There are people with all sorts of budgets that want to get high quality education. That’s why I offer one on one video calls where we can talk about any topic that’s on your mind. We may not be able to get any pitches in, but that doesn’t stop us from making anchors in our living rooms together!
